THE INCARNATION OF CHRIST IN YOU

BE DONE WITH YOUR CHRISTIAN POVERTY MENTALITY

Paul asserted that ‘the letter kills’ because it has no life. He refers to it in another place as ‘words on stone’ (2 Cor 3.7). They had a use. They were a schoolmaster to lead to the coming of Christ who would be our life – the incarnation of God in every person and the human race. The fruit of the cross is  the expression of the Father is you. This is our sonship.

CUT YOURSELF OFF

Should we resist Christ our life as God embodied in us – then we might as well deny the first part of the incarnation –  deny that the Son of God come as Jesus of Nazareth in Palestine. But should we do this and we end up with nothing.

Christ our life is the fullness of God in us and with us. He is the fall undone, Adam’s curse lifted, and infinite life begun in you and the church. Jesus is the hope and the reality of the new creation. To live Christ come in our flesh is to become more alive everyday.

There are people, raised in poverty in the childhood, who when you buy something they always ask, ‘How much did it cost.’ No longer poor their live from the scarcity mentality in which they were raised. You wonder of they ever buy something for the satisfaction and pleasure it gives. They are a parable f the Christian who chooses not live in the incarnation but in the scarcity of the law – where he can keep a running check on what he thinks is his progress into acceptance with God. But because Christ has come in the flesh He is for us and in us transforming us into His life. This is what Paul calls the riches of Christ.

MYSTERY OF GODLINESS IS THE TRINITY IN YOU

The mystery of Godliness, of our grafting into the triune life of God is explained as follows. “
Through the incarnation of the Son, the eternal relation of the Son to the Father and of the Father to the Son was inserted into and grounded in our humanity, while through the entire life of the incarnate Son it was translated into our sphere of historical existence and actuality on earth.

“He who was God and man in one person acted from the side of God in the faithfulness of the divine truth and love, and acted from the side of humanity in the faithfulness of a life wholly obedient to the Father. In that unity of the divine-human faithfulness, Jesus Christ was not only the complete embodiment of the faithfulness of God the Father toward humanity but the complete embodiment of the faithfulness of the Son as Man toward the Father.”

ITS NOT YES AND NO

We have a win/win situation in Christ who is the all sufficient provision for us as Himself as the Door to union with God. It’s union with God that makes us Godly. Nothing else. It’s Christ’s union with God that is our union with God. We would do better to think less about us ‘receiving Christ’ and live from the fact that we have been received into His life.
